Mission

The mission of the Department of Data Science and Analytics is to train experts who can transform data into knowledge by combining statistics, mathematics, computer science, and artificial intelligence methods, who possess analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, who adhere to ethical values, and who can work across disciplines. The department also aims to contribute to the field of data science through scientific research and innovative applications, and to make the knowledge gained available to society and industry.

The vision of the Department of Data Science and Analytics is to become a distinguished academic center that is recognized nationally and internationally, leads with its innovative research, and equips its graduates with the competencies to guide the future data-driven world. The department aims to establish a structure that contributes to sustainable development, leads technological transformation, and acts with an understanding of scientific excellence.

The Purpose of the Department

The primary purpose of the Data Science and Analytics Department is to train experts who can transform data, which has become today's most valuable resource, into meaningful information. In this context, the department provides a strong interdisciplinary education program by offering students the fundamentals of statistics, mathematics, computer science, and artificial intelligence. Thus, students gain the ability to analyze, model, and interpret large and complex data sets.

Another goal of the department is to prepare students for the needs of the business world and academia by prioritizing both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. The flexibility to apply data science methods in different fields such as finance, health, energy, social sciences, and industry contributes to graduates becoming versatile data scientists. The department also encourages students to develop solutions to real-world problems through project-based work.

Finally, the Department of Data Science and Analytics focuses on research and innovation. Studies conducted on contemporary topics such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and big data analytics contribute to the scientific world and enable students to master current technologies. Department Objective

The objective of the Data Science and Analytics Department is to train experts with analytical thinking who can add value to science, technology, and industry by transforming data into meaningful information.

Degree Awarded

Students who successfully complete the program are awarded a bachelor's degree in Data Science and Analytics.

Admission Requirements

1. High school diploma or equivalent

2. Sufficient score on the Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS)

Employment Opportunities and Advancement for Graduates

Graduates of the department can work as assistant experts or experts responsible for data science and analytics processes in banks, ministries and undersecretariats, various public directorates, insurance companies, armed forces, software companies, public relations companies, universities, logistics companies, automotive and other industrial sectors. They can work in managerial positions in parallel with their career development.

Graduation Requirements

Students who successfully complete all courses available in the program (equivalent to a total of 240 ECTS) and obtain a weighted grade point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00 are eligible to graduate with the title of Data Scientist and Analyst.
